Kelly was born in South Carolina and received her college education at Clemson University. Then, she received a master's of broadcast journalism degree from the University of Miami. From the beginning of her life, Kelly had a dream of working in television stations as she found the tasks associated with television attractive and glamorous. Following her graduation, Kelly became a part of ACC Digital Network as a production assistant. Additionally, she worked as an intern. After her training was completed, she was promoted to a production assistant job at ACC Digital Network. She then was hired by Fox Sports Florida as an intern, and later moved to Fox Sports Sun. Then she persevered and eventually appointed to a job at MLB Network, the largest sports news channel in America. Co-hosting 'The Rundown,' the most watched program by the network, she currently works at the network. She has a large following and stays connected via the social media channels she has.
